Ps 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust
I knew the day would come! I just knew it! As did most of you who have been reading this blog!
But..no-one got hurt.
This morning at about 8am, an alarm kept going off. I was wondering what was going on, but because these are new homes and getting the system just right took us a while, I just assumed that our back neighbours had the same issue.
But it kept going…
When I’d served the children breakfast, my son remarked on it, asking why it was still ringing. I said “I don’t know..”
Then turned towards the glass door
And saw
Two men jumping over the wall
INTO
our back garden
and towards me
then to the side gate
which they had conveniently opened and left open
and out
INTO
the bushes I once complained about
It was an hour ago and I’m still jittery
It brings back the fear I used to feel when burglars came into our childhood home.
The one time-as I’ve mentioned-they came through the glass door
No,we can’t afford to beef up our security so we’ll keep trusting in God.
My ‘son said that the next time it happens, he’ll go out to them and ask them not to come into our yard
My girl said she’ll take a knife, sword and some other implement that I’ve now forgotten, and go beat them!
I called the patrol guy to let him know. He hadn’t heard the alarm-this is a large nieghbourhood-and the kids now think it’s all good. Ah, innocence.
Me?
This is South Africa. Brutal rapes, torture, murder…
But keeping as calm as possible.
Praying this doesn’t happen again. Especially not when hubby’s gone.
