When I was growing up, we used a plant that looked like a spineless cactus... we call it 'tuna'here. We scraped the slimy insides and used that for conditioner.

Young folk these days would say it was "the bomb dot com". LOL! It had no scent and the only 'trial' was brushing out white residue (pulp) when it dried.

I have a plant, and I really should try it again now that I am thinking about it. :-)

Thank you for joining my challenge Thandi. I too give to others in ways I don't like to share. I feel that is between God and myself. I do enjoy giving a piece of fruit of to the homeless when I see them hanging around the store, but there are so many other ways to help.

I am also glad this young lady has you and your family in her lives. I can relate to this story in a deeply personal way as something similar happened to me. My child is now 13, but I know exactly what it's like to sit in the church pews and 'be judged'. People always assume you were fornicating... We had a meeting at our church too, after that everyone was so warm and supportive.

Very fascinating. I am very interested in the African cultures. Some of the practices are still retained in Jamaica. Such as, it is considered impolite to refer to an older person by their first name, unless you have been invited to do so.

I love your outfit by the way. It is very beautiful. When I visited South Africa last year, I had two outfits custom made for myself, using beautiful traditional fabrics. I would love to come back again. There is so much to see and enjoy.
